It was just over 15 years ago that the Woollacott’s made the Pride of London part of the family. Having toasted a glass of champagne together on-board an empty unloved boat in 2007, it was then that Steve and Jane, husband and wife and life-long business partners, embarked on their next challenge.
Coming from 6 generations of Thames Watermen and Lightermen Captain and Director, Steve, was apprenticed by his father in 1978 and became a Freeman of the Thames in 1984. He has since apprenticed others including his two sons Ben and Michael. His 30+ years of Maritime experience and excellent boat handling and navigation skills, have seen Steve captain not only MV Pride of London, but also other boats and tugs on the River Thames, just like his father and grandfathers before him.
Jane began life on the Thames at just 19 where she met Steve. She became part of the River family and spent many years managing the bars. Jane then took time out to be at home and raise their children. It wasn’t long before she had the opportunity within Cruise London to pursue her passion for food, achieving certificates for Level 2 Awards in Culinary Skills and Food Safety in Catering. Jane collaborated with talented chefs and crafted in-house menus meaning the crew, and our guests, would never go hungry again!
With Steve’s expertise of the River Thames and Jane’s added ‘woman’s touch’, they formed the perfect partnership and Cruise London was established. They now employ a dedicated team who assist in creating and managing their client’s events down to every detail. The Cruise London family all share the same passion in making every occasion memorable and special, they are on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly.
